Once a team leader’s goals are clearly articulated, we follow this up with a team audit to actively involve everyone in the process. Once everyone has voiced their goals and concerns, I develop a customized agenda, then we get to work!

Powerful Assertive Communication Training For Leaders And Teams

Assertive communication training helps leaders and teams set boundaries, know their limits, hear and speak their truth without fear in ways that others can hear.

I’ve observed and worked with people at all stages of their careers in all kinds of organizations around the globe. Everyone bumps up against assertiveness. My understanding of the value of expert communication and especially assertive communication, in any professional setting, comes from decades of deep practice.

Training your leaders and teams in core skills like assertiveness is well worth the investment.
Employees become more motivated, productive, and satisfied in a workplace that provides opportunities for and an interest in their growth.

Assertive communication training can help in a variety of scenarios. Here are some examples:

• You’ve got a brilliant idea or strategy but can’t seem to communicate in a way that gets people to stand behind you.

• You feel as though you’re always right and speak up passionately. You voice your opinions loud and clear, but your passion is often interpreted as aggression.

• You’re conflict-averse and have trouble saying no which makes you overwhelmed and over-committed

These are just a few of the scenarios I’ve come across in my years of training, but there are plenty more where that came from!

When leaders and teams master assertive communication, they naturally project executive presence, authentic leadership, inspire others, make their voices and contributions heard, and handle inevitable disagreements and conflict masterfully.

My assertiveness communication training can be delivered as stand-alone half-day training or combined with your team offsites.

“In 2011, my company AMB Property corporation merged with Prologis. At that time I was in charge of AMB for Southern Europe at the head of a team of 10 or so. I became Head of Southern Europe of the new entity – called Prologis — and had to manage a team of nearly 70 staff. The merger prompted me to come into coaching with a few goals in mind:

Move the culture of Prologis to a culture of accountability, performance, and fun, build a cohesive management team that would capitalize on its experience and origin but primarily on the new opportunity of the merger to create a new company., and ensure the management team would spread the new culture to all employees.
